I’ve been making money online for quite some time now, but by “money” I mean a few bucks here, a few more there. Never more than $500 in any given month. Anything from article writing, to domain flipping, to CPA; all the typical newbie shit.
I then got into “offline” before it became the “cool” thing to do – and I’ve since made a pretty damn good living with it. It’s been my only source of income for the last 2 years. Now, you’re probably saying “then, wtf is the point of this article?”… good question!
I am posting this because I have finally started making money online! And I’d like to give other newbies a few pointers. Let me start by what I did: I created a product telling people how to make money offline, by selling to local businesses.
I then listed the course as a WSO (my first ever) and I had sold out of my first price level in 4 minutes! All I could think was HOLY EFFIN SHIAT – I couldn’t believe I was finally making money online. Since the launch, I’ve sold over $1,200 worth of the product, and it’s been public for less than a week. Here are some tips for newbies and seasoned vets alike on your journey to success:
1. Stick to one or two projects. I know it’s tempting; you’ve got 29 ebooks and courses you just downloaded from many sites and you want to watch them all – well here’s my advice: don’t. Pick just one or two. Then really focus on them for at LEAST 2 weeks each. If you’re not making ANY progress, move onto another method. If you start to make some progress, keep going – you’ll be making money soon.
2. Don’t be scared by what everyone tells you. Would you ever believe me if I told you I sold out of my first price level in 4 minutes (that’s 10 copies in 4 minutes people) without a list, any previous advertising, zero copywriting experience, and no buyer testimonials? Of course you wouldn’t. But it’s true. I literally went in with nothing, and made $120 in 4 minutes. Seriously.
3. Stop with the affiliate stuff. Honestly, stop getting other people rich – create your own product! Then sell them, build a list up, THEN worry about making other people rich, after you already are.
4. Customer service. I had a shitty job at a local burger place when I was younger, and my manager had always told us the same thing. The key to customer service isn’t keeping customers happy; it’s not allowing them to become unhappy. And that’s so true. Stop focusing on making people happy. Focus on not making them unhappy. (if you can follow that logic) All you need to do is provide what you say you will, with a good attitude. Then provide a little more. Over-deliver. It’s the real key to success.
